1) A gentleman would like to spend rosh hashanah in our community rather than in the conservative temple where he is a member. He wants to be in a more traditional environment. He has been in our shul in the past for the High Holidays. Does anyone have place to house him? I would arrange 3-4 of the 6 meals to be eaten elsewhere.
I know him well and he is trustworthy, honest, etc. His name is Ralph Montview. Please contact me as soon as possible if you can house him.
2) We would like to thank the travelling sofer who has been here this week and has checked 14 pairs of tefillin and 72 mezuzos.
3) Remember to buy some tickets in the campership raffle to be held on august 29. Someone will win $1000. The odds are about 1 in 300. Past winners from our community include Perelmuter, Kracoff, Krinsky (Greenwald's daughter), Dauer, just to name just a few. Regardless, you always win as you are giving tzedaka to our camp fund.
4) There has recently been talk about maybe also having a later minyan every morning as the time now is too early for some (it is a little bit surprising and hurtful that in an orthodoxly commited community only about 13 people show up to the minyan out of a possible 50-60). Regardless, I
wish to evaluate the possibility of also having a later minyan which may be easier for some to attend. Please let me know by email any of the options that you would make a real effort to attend. I'm not talking about a kratzing and shlepping minyan. If we have the people we would start on time and davening would be between 35-45 minutes depending on kriah.
