Dear community tichyu,

1) The Sofer will iy"h be checking 23 tefillin and165 mezuzos this week. May our renewed tefillin and mezuzos bring much blessing to our Kehilla for the coming year. He will probably be back in 2 months if you wish to get things checked, call me now to get on the list.

2) I have met with Scott Peck and assessed the needs-to help him. I need $500. I will give $40. Anyone wishing to help, please call me.

3) I am looking for a woman to take a very poor woman shopping with you when you go kosher food shopping for yourself in L.A.

Alternatively, I am looking for someone (woman or man) that could buy the items for her. In either case, the money for her groceries will be provided.

4) Thank you to all those that offered to help with Shabbos dinners for students. Hillel has made other plans for the students.

5) The College student Sukkah Hop-is always a smashing success. I am looking to pull together a committee of 3 or 4 members of our Community to plan this year’s Hop and make it the best Sukkah Hop yet!

As part of the planning for the Hop, I am looking for 2 Sukkos (families) that will open their Sukkos for us and a group to serve as a food committee that can help organize the food for the last stop at the Shul’s Sukkah.

The Sukkah Hop is on Thursday, October 8^th. Please call me ASAP if you are able to help in any of these areas.
